After the Snowfall: Fresh stillness

Beautiful Marches hillscape under snow

 Snowfall

The world is silent, still

As snowflakes drift and fill

The empty fields and hills

With a blanket of white

The air is crisp and cold

As I breathe in and hold

The scent of pine and mold

And a hint of delight

The sound is soft and low

As I walk through the snow

And hear the crunch below

And the birds in their flight

The touch is smooth and fine

As I reach out and find

The snowflakes on my skin

And a spark of light
